God’s Gifts Are Not Only for Administration

God’s Gifts Are Not Only for Administration

Guess what? God’s gifts are not only for administration.

Isn’t that a relief? Since He knows and has planned every moment of our lives, the Holy Spirit equips us uniquely to be effective members of God’s kingdom.

This doesn’t mean that developing and properly using that primary Spirit-chosen gift for us, is simple. While we mature in it, things can be uncomfortable, even awkward. Like sanctification, the process takes a lifetime. We can also expect the devil’s attempts to warp the gift.

God’s gifts are not only for administration.

The next six gifts offer an assortment of options for those of us who prefer to be active behind the scenes.

The first gift is delightfully open-ended. It’s help. The list continues with giving/contributing, distinguishing between spirits, serving, teaching, encouraging, and mercy. People who thrive working on teams find effective places, while others can interact one-on-one.

Several of these gifts can overlap, and each believer gets opportunities to develop the capacity for one or more. Expect the expression of using a spiritual gift to shift, taking on elements of some other gifts.

Someone might work on a mission field while young. Building relationships or infrastructure. Because this is a fallen, malfunctioning world, the physical ability to do so could change. The person with such a calling and gift might then shift to contributing to a mission fund.

God’s gifts are not only for administration, but they are all about building His kingdom.

Until the eternity when His Kingdom is fully realized, there’s work for everyone.

Good thoughts, Heidi. I might add that our time on earth is our training for Heaven. Everything we are gifted with and learn to do for the Kingdom here will be useful in our Heavenly Kingdom as well! What comfort! What joy! Sharing ourselves here and for eternity!
