Teachers are a Church Administration Essential
Teachers are a church administration essential, even today. The early church in the vicinity of Jerusalem had the option of enlisting reliable people who had followed Jesus through his entire ministry to teach those who believed at Pentecost, and afterward.
Under the supervision of the apostles, and perhaps assigned to specific cities where believers gathered after the church spread out of Judea, these teachers accurately communicated Jesus’ story, and the truths He taught.

Among them were Aquila and Priscilla, who were also church planters, tent makers, and friends of the Apostle Paul. Why do I bring them up? I do it because teaching, in various, unique ways, is a ministry that’s available to occupy every believer.

Besides mastery of a topic or skill, and accurate transmission of truth, what quality does a teacher need? He or she should also be open to learning more. Take Apollos, for instance. He was a Jew with a Greek name, who came from Alexandria, Egypt. The Book of Acts describes him as a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of Scripture, who had been instructed in the way of the Lord. He taught what he knew of Jesus accurately, but his knowledge was limited.
When Apollos reached Ephesus, he spoke in the synagogue there, and fellow Christians Aquila and Priscilla realized Apollos needed to learn more. They invited him into their home, and while offering him hospitality, filled him in on what he’d lacked. He went on, now fully equipped, to coordinate efforts with Paul’s missionary team.

Don’t forget that teaching starts very close to home. Timothy, who also worked with Paul, pastored churches and wrote. The teachers who had the greatest influence in his life were his mother and grandmother, whose names, Lois and Eunice, are recorded in Scripture to this day.
