What Happened in Grapevine, TX?

I attended the ACFW 2017 Conference in Grapevine, TX in September. This photo, taken early one morning, is a glimpse of a large upper lobby.

I volunteered during the conference and was blessed to have one of my better interview experiences when I spoke with a publisher about my manuscript. What happened after that?  I sent him a status query in mid-January, and received a long, pleasant “no thank you” letter.
He thinks it’s worth my while to seek representation, and suggested an agent to contact.
If I gather my funds and organize travel, there’s a new conference closer to home that I could attend and meet face-to-face with the agent the man in Texas suggested.

That is very encouraging news, Heidi! Hey–I’m wondering if this agent has a phone?
Maybe calling and talking to him/her might be an option before the next conference?
You have a referral, you should use it to get through that door.
((((HUGS)))) Praying for you as you take the next step.

I’ve looked at the suggested agent’s page and found a quite exhaustive list of the genres he’ll accept. I think the story would fit at least one of them. As for phone numbers, I think agents tend to only give those out to the clients they represent. If I can meet this agent, I will definitely mention that the man in Texas suggested I speak to him.

I encourage you to, at the very least, email him, and mention that this publisher recommended that you get in contact with him. Give him the shortest possible version of your synopsis and ask if he’d be interested in seeing more.
    It can’t hurt.
