The Next Gift for Sanctification—Truth
The next gift for sanctification is truth. Receiving truth from God is a vitally important gift for sanctification because Truth is part of God’s character.
God the Father said as much when He told Moses His name was I AM. Jesus told his disciples, and therefore us, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” The Holy Spirit is also called The Spirit of Truth.
What are the effects of Truth?
Let’s face it, after discernment, which does a great deal to foil the Enemy’s dastardly plans, truth is sure to give disbelievers fits. A strong grasp of Truth, combined with discernment allows us to weigh lightweight human philosophies and see their actual value.

God’s Word outweighs human philosophy
People who follow those philosophies will employ their usual tactic of disparagement when believers in Christ speak truth. If we trust what we know, and stand firm, we’ll retain something they don’t have: security.
The portion of Webster’s definition for truth that seems most useful here is: 2a. (1) the state of being the case: FACT. (2) the body of real things, events, and facts: ACTUALITY.
These concepts, under irrational challenge since the days of Socrates and Pilate, now crumble to levels approaching insanity in the minds of those who do not possess Truth, the next gift for sanctification.
What Do We Do with Truth?
We must repeat it, live in ways that show its power, and wait with tenacity and anticipation for the joy of seeing truth fulfilled. Unbelievers won’t appreciate it, but neither will they be able to claim they haven’t heard.
