God’s Son Offers Gifts

God’s Son Offers Gifts.

Why?

Unlike some of us, it’s not to manipulate, or put us under obligation to him, or even to quiet an uneasy conscience.  I’m thankful for that. God’s Son offers gifts because he wants those who are his to have the BEST, the gifts that are irrevocable.
When I decided to follow my webmaster’s urging, posting regularly, based on a theme, I’d thought I’d compile a list of tangible physical gifts and a list of spiritual blessings. I’d introduce an item from one of the lists on Tuesdays, and express thanks for the listed gift on Thursdays. Simple, right?
No. Not if I’m utterly honest, which is a characteristic that only the gifts of Mercy, Grace, and Forgiveness which I’ve experienced have brought out in me. Without those, I’d be someone else entirely.
On Tuesday, my post included a particular subheading: What’s in it for us? Now, no matter how that subheading may have sounded, I need to make clear that I’m not talking about the so-called prosperity gospel that some of the people in this damaged world fall for, and the others despise.
It may be that these initial posts have driven several people I’m currently thinking about, away, and the only ones reading are strong Christian believers. Whether or not those others are still reading, I need to say this:
The irrevocable gifts the Son offers, only come with a condition.
God's Son offers Gift of Salvation in John 14:8-9.

How Do You Satisfy It?

His condition is that anyone who wants his gifts must first have a living, heart-to-heart relationship with him. Does that surprise you, or seem too demanding?
Unlike pleasing some human relatives, a relationship with Jesus does not depend totally on your effort.
The Son will help. Really. He knows your name, and what caused your pain, rage, dissatisfaction, and grief. He’s calling. Answer Him. Say “yes, please,” and all the BEST, the irrevocable gifts, will be yours.
If you refuse, the most you’ll ever experience are imperfect human-based imitations, that will crumble and fail you, both in this life and the next. I don’t want you to miss out. Do you truly want knock-offs, or the real thing?
